Dr. Lucas Schramm’s research interests lie in the field of European integration from a historical and theoretical perspective, EU crisis policy, and German-French interests. He works at the intersection of international relations and comparative politics, with a focus on qualitative methods, including archival research and expert interviews. In his dissertation, Dr. Lucas Schramm analyzed eight major crises throughout the entire process of European integration and attempted to explain the differences in crisis outcomes. Before coming to LMU Munich, Dr Lucas Schramm was a doctoral student at the European University Institute in Florence. He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in political science at the University of Trier, Sciences Po Lyon and Lancaster University. He also holds a postgraduate degree in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges.
